Runway | The Cashmere Collection 2018: Crystal Ball

October has crept its way in and alongside it, the crisp autumn air. Besides the change of season, October marks an important time of the year where for many, challenging or celebratory, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It was estimated in 2017 that 26,300 Canadian women were diagnosed with breast cancer and on average, 14 Canadian women died from the disease each day (Canadian Cancer Society). Sadly for many these statistics hit close to home and strive for a future without breast cancer.

The Cashmere Collection is the annual kick-off for October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and heralds the yearly return of limited-edition Cashmere, with twenty-five cents from the sale of every package going directly to breast cancer efforts at the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS).

The world-renowned, first-of-its-kind, Cashmere Collection, returns this September for its 15th year on the runway in support of the breast cancer cause. The exclusive, internationally acclaimed showcase for Canada’s fashion community will feature 15 top fashion designers and their one-of-a-kind couture creations, all fashioned in luxuriously soft sheets of Cashmere
Bathroom Tissue and embellished with thousands of glittering gems. This year’s collection is
inspired by crystal, the traditional 15-year anniversary gift, and the eternal love and unwavering
commitment it represents.

The Cashmere Collection features 15 designers from across Canada, all new to the collection. They include: Marie Copps, Atelier Guarin, Shelli Oh, ZOFF, Mani Jassal, House of Suri, Maret Kendra, Andrew Coimbra, Candace Daniela, Neya Couture, Maya Charbin, Di Carlo Couture, Oscar Mendoza, Claire Lemaître-Auger & Fesvedy.

Please help Cashmere make a difference and take part in “Vote Couture” for the Cure® at Facebook.com/Cashmere. Cashmere will donate $1 for every vote (to a maximum of $10,000), to the CCS’s breast cancer efforts in the winning designer’s name. Voters can return daily to be entered into a draw for the chance to win a year supply of Cashmere Bathroom Tissue, and for their chance to win the ultimate grand prize – a custom piece of jewellery valued at $1,500!
