Everyone tweeted, shared and Instagrammed this image the moment most of us saw or received it in our inboxes and it’s safe to say we all reacted in the same way – WOW.
Yes, it’s a fantastic photo of fine looking guys – and not just any guys; just about every MAJOR male model (some missing) that we see in look books, campaigns, runways and music videos but is it all that great? Dull, perhaps? I think so. I get it, DETAILS is that Made-For-America-Can’t-Look-Too-Forward-Because-We’re-Manly-Men aesthetic is fine for basic menswear, but where’s the life guys? A fairly monotone feeling when you really get down to analyzing the photo – no? Yes, you’ve included some men of colour, great. You’ve included new comers & veterans, great. But I can’t help but feel this is what normcore would be like for semi-savvy men in middle America. Snoooooze.
