TIFF | NKPR IT Lounge 2013
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! AHHH! Well, one of! It’s TIFF season here in Toronto and between, galas to gifting lounges to afterparties and work I’m beat but loving it! This year I have Daniel running around to most things with me or have him covering the things I can’t go to.
There are a couple of gifting lounges/events that I always look forward to and one of them being Natasha Koifman‘s annual NKPR IT Lounge! Hot off the heels of its successful partnership with legendary fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier last year, the IT Lounge Portrait Studio returns in an exclusive collaboration with fashion magazine W and Canadian photographer Caitlin Cronenberg.
Held from September 5 to 10, NKPR kicked off the start to the film festival by “Bringing IT Back,” transforming its headquarters into an exclusive Modern Vintage-themed portrait studio that gives back. The IT Lounge Portrait Studio remembers those in need, with celebrities and participating brands working together to raise awareness and funds for Artists for Peace and Justice – the organization founded by Academy Award winning director Paul Haggis, that is committed to supporting communities in Haiti through programs in education, healthcare, and dignity. At the IT Lounge Portrait Studio, a donation will be made to Artists for Peace and Justice for every talent who sits for a portrait.
Celebrities, film-industry and media insiders who visit the IT Lounge Portrait Studio get to experience the Modern Vintage theme, celebrating tradition, heritage and classics with brands including AVON, Tweezerman, Colgate, Roots, !Xam Jewellery, and Yo Sox. Guests stayed hydrated with Bottlegreen, AQUAHydrate, DAVIDsTEA and SKYY Vodka, while taking a quick trip to Italy at the Barilla pasta station, and sweetening their day with Coldstone Creamery.
You never know who you’re going to run into at the IT Lounge so you have to pay attention. Here’s a look at some of the Canadian talent and personalities that showed up just on Day 1 – who do you recognize? Perhaps the NEVEREST boys, Dragonette, The Property Brothers or someone from The Bachelor?
