Editorial | ‘Equinox’ ft. Natasha R. by Azra Bajric
A while back I was approached by a group of talented woman whom wanted to curate and create a project that comprised of 10 Editorials, 10 themes, 10 models, 10 stories, 1 Toronto summer. The group appropriately called, Toronto 10.
The lot made up of photographer Azra Bajric, her sister, Dina, hair & makeup girls, Janine (make-up) & Mayumi (hair) and musical director, Hana all wanted to transitions and expand into the world of fashion, specifically fashion photography. After realizing how much work, cost and production goes into a shoot they wanted to partner with select individuals that would help style and conceptualize these different themes into 10 different stories – cutting out much of the wrangling and headache that clothing and styling are!

Their challenge? Convincing these different individuals to hop on board. An industry that doesn’t always take kind to new comers or if they do not benefit from them; are not willing to help – the fashion industry is essentially a bitch. Having gone through all that bullshit, politics and hierarchy of a shallow and incredibly fickle industry I wasn’t going to turn down people who genuinely wanted to create and celebrate fashion. I love working on creatives, I love photography – fashion is as subjective as you want it or make it out to be. You want to create visual stimulation, art and inspire. I love doing that through clothes – that’s why I’m in the industry.
But, I digress. Capitalizing on the theme of Leather and fur I came up with these looks that embody both the subtle sexuality and dark aesthetic that I love. Fur, being one of my favourite things was a no brainer and no better choice than the immensely talented, Farley Chatto! Thanks to everyone and all brands involved – this was a major success!
