I had the chance to stop into one of my favourite Danier stores at Yorkdale Shopping Centre this past weekend, and hand picked my top three must haves for this sale.
#1 – The “Sonny” Casual Bag
Who doesn’t need a new leather bag these days? And to be honest, can you really have too many of these? Coming in both Black & Brown this stylish bag shows off the quality of production that we have come to expect from Danier. Two zipped organizer and spacious cotton lined, this is my must have Danier bag for the season. The brown is my favourite colour for the fall but black offers the versatility to be timeless. Or if you can’t decide like me, why not just get both and call it an early Christmas present for yourself?
#2 – The “Chad” Bomber Jacket
Bomber Jackets are sexy on men, let’s be honest. The Chad comes in both black and grey and fit like a glove. My personal favourite was the grey which was smoky and on trend for the season, and is going to sell out fast I have no doubt. I was impressed at how light weight and warm this jacket was and think it is a great addition to any wardrobe. Julio would agree that a bomber leather jacket is a staple for any man. And now, I know why.
#3 – The “Foster” Fingertip Jacket
The Foster caught my attention and I fell in love with it from the moment I saw it. So much so that I couldn’t leave the store without it. Brown textured suede in a slim fit cut, with detachable sheepskin fur collar; this piece embodies a classic masculine jacket that I’ve always wanted. The best part? The jacket is made with Thinsulate™ technology for some added insulation – practical and style conscious!

The designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler succeed in reinventing their label’s indentity every season. This time they passed on using colourful fabrics, but instead focussed on a collection almost entirely in black and white, mingled only with some silverish greys and hints of peach and mint. The collection of the two young designers is more elegant than ever before. Just as in a Haute Couture show, bouclé was used for jackets and fine lace for the final dresses. In addition high quality leather and feathery details appear throughout the collection. Essential to the collection are jackets with wide sleeves and knee-length skirts with slits in front as well as slightly shorter A-line skirts. A range of pumps with pointed toe caps, bows, laser cut details and not too high heels give the collection another classy touch as well as the slim square clutches the models carry under their arms.
