80 years of natural evolution, 80 years of revisiting the codes, 80 years of inventing silhouettes, 80 years of offering more freedom, 80 years of renewing the glamour, 80 years of enhancing comfort and style – so if you haven’t figured it out, Lacoste turns 80; and they haven’t looked better!
Celebrating in style at the Canadian flagship and our very own Yorkdale Shopping Centre, Lacoste throws a fetepacked with friends, clients, media and a commemorative capsule collection.
In celebration of its 80th anniversary, Lacoste has created an exclusive collection, revisiting the timeless style of the brand, reinventing the symbols, materials and codes that epitomize “Unconventional Chic”. There will be various deliveries throughout the year, each one featuring new products highlighting a special aspect of the brand’s personality.
An extensive collection comprised of watches, sunglasses & accessories, apparel and shoes it promises to reinvigorate the brand with heritage and design.
The EDITION collection relies on an 80-year heritage of timeless style and revisits the brand’s simple and smart iconic pieces. In order to design the EDITION polo, some of René Lacoste’s drawings were pulled out of the brand’s archive, as the tennis champion enjoyed sketching a few pieces himself. The collection also introduces the original René Lacoste tennis shoe created in 1963, made out of herringbone canvas, in its classic milky shade. The EDITION sunglasses were also conceived as a new edition of successful LACOSTE aviator frames from the 80s. All items from this collection – including watches for men, children’s clothing, leather goods and accessories – remain faithful to the brand’s codes.
Swing by the Yorkdale location and check out the capsule collection – the accessories and shoes are probably my favourites. But, don’t take me word for it, check them out yourself!
