Collection | MUGLER Man F/W 12/13

Anyone else feel MUGLER’s latest collection was a bit all over the map? Capes, satin, relaxed bottoms, asymmetry, glitz and cameras?!!? Not keen on the collection from Creative director, Nicola Formichetti and designer, Romain Kremer that showed more theatrics than a clothing collection.
Formichetti apparently says he closely analyzed uniforms of marines for the latest collection - really?! On what planet?! Well that’s a skewed sense of perception now isn’t it, Nicola?!
I was though all over the reinterpretation of the varsity/sports jacket (seen in the last shots) with it’s tuxedo outlined detail, and throw in some sparkle and I’m in. I’ll always love MUGLER and everything Nicola does, but this, well maybe we’ll just overlook this. It is safe to safe that a lot of these pieces will transfer well on camera for editorials, perhaps they’ll grow on me then.

Magazine | V Magazine #75

Canada’s Justin Bieber lands the cover for V Magazine’s 75th issue dressed in head-to-toe, MUGLER. The magazine’s Music Issuehas Bieber styled by Nicola Formichettiand lensed by Inez & Vinoodh.

Bieber who turns 18, looks decent (not necessarily good) in the French houses’ outerwear and Roman inspired pieces. A tame and safe shoot (compared to this) styled by Formichetti - he should be wearing all the hardware that was seen in this collection. But I’m sure his publicist and management had something to say about that. Heaven forbid if we market the child in avant garde fashion!

Magazine | DSECTION Magazine #2

Nicola Formichetti finds another tattoo-ed muse in Dario. Known, for his eerie obsession with the dead and zombies (we all remember Rick Genest), Formichetti presents us yet another creepy tattoo-clad man, known only as Dario. I still prefer Rick, AKA Zombie Boy!
Dario wearing MUGLER S/S 2012 is photographed by Mariano Vivanco for the Skin Issue of DSECTION magazine. This marks the second issue of the Portuguese-based magazine and it has quite the impressive line-up of content from some of the world’s more progressive minds in fashion! Great job, Portugal!

Editorial | ‘Love, Sex, Magic’ L’Officiel Hommes Korea No.5

Mugler Creative Director, Nicola Formichetti’s gorgeous face graces the cover of the No.5 issue of L’Officiel Hommes Korea. I’ve been stalking Nicola’s tumblr, and I’ve found these first renderings of the shoot lensed by Branislav Jankic.
The style icon wears Mugler throughout the cover and editorial and naturally styled by him!

When it comes to MUGLER I’m in shock, and when it comes to Lady Gaga I pass out, so merge the two together and you might as well sign my death certificate! Creative director, Nicola Formichetti teams up yet again with Lady Gaga - this time in an exclusive film directed by Inez and Vinoodh - at the MUGLER Women’s Spring Summer 2012 fashion show in Paris.
[The collection] is about emotion and memory and something forming and abstract rather than complete… We concentrated on the idea of the silhouettes.” said Formichetti of the pieces.
Classic tailoring techniques spliced together giving the garments a more abstract quality; the pieces were enhanced by Swarovski crystal accents, so fresh!
Photography | MUGLER “Brothers of Arcadia” Soft Porn Fanzine

Yes, you did read that right, Soft porn friends, soft porn! Following his racy video depicting an overtly sexual S/S 2011 MUGLER collection titled, Brother Of Arcadia, Nicola Formichetti serves us this!
A “magazine” type collection of photographs by Branislav Jankic with models, Travis Cannata, Matthieu Charneau, Alex Eroe and Esmir Redzepagic for some cheek-in-tongue take on men’s fashion.

Here’s the full length MUGLER Brother’s Of Arcadia S/S 2012 promotional campaign video I had shown you the teaser the other day!
Lots of skin, homo-eroticism and more skin from Nicola Formichetti - not surprised!
What do you think?
Collection | MUGLER Men’s S/S 2012

Romain Kremer and Nicola Formichetti’s foward design and creativity for a men’s collection is nothing short of eccentric and outlandish! Futuristic inspirations, tribal & war influences and what looks to be 80s throwbacks to some pieces make the latest S/S 2012 collection a highlight during Men’s Fashion Week.
Suiting takes an extremely non-traditional take, with a cut-out highlighter green number followed by various others in varying fabrication mixes! Let’s not oversea the glittery sequins, seen on leggings and shoulder pieces. A Collection of unparalleled proportions - literally.

The much anticipated MUGLER S/S 2012 collection for men that Nicola Formichetti has been working on is receiving quite the buzz.
So in true Formichetti fashion, the talented creative director teases us with this racy and hyper-sexualized video staring Travis Cannata, to promote the upcoming collection.
Oh and this is only part one! I’ll show you the next one the moment it comes out!

Cover & Editorial | Libertarian Magazine #7

Breath taking is really not the word I’m looking for in this editorial, but it’s certainly close! The latest issue of Libertarian magazine, titled Divina Commedia (named after Dante’s Divine Comedy) features models Nicolas Ripoll and Juan Manuel Arancibia in pieces by Mugler, Dior Homme and YSL.
The beautiful photographs were shot by Justin Wu and styled by Sophie Ruthensteiner. What do you think?

I want this veil! It’s so MUGLER!
