Miu Miu presents this riveting and eerie short film titled, The Woman Dress. A film by Giada Colagrande, the film stars Italian actress Maya Sansa and is set to a haunting soundtrack, written especially for the film by electronic pop trio Au Revoir Simone.
The almost 7-minute long film features key Miu Miu frocks and some brilliant styling from the Italian house, and those opening gold sunnies are everything!!!
A coven of elegant witches attends a bubbling cauldron, their shadowy cavern hung with the ghosts of dresses. Maya Sansa is undressed and led to a bath, and her finger pricked to draw blood. The witches — played by Heather D’Angelo, Erika Forster and Annie Hart of Au Revoir Simone — circle, chanting in strange tongues. As the smoke clears we see Maya Sansa has made the ultimate sacrifice, transforming herself into the object of her desire — a beautiful blood red dress.

Film | Coco & Igor Stravinsky
As a beauty devout, I’ve always been obsessed with anything Chanel. Naturally, having just come back from a three week holiday in Europe, I am much inspired by the film Coco & Igor Stravinsky, starring Mads Mikkelsen and Anna Mouglalis, who was actually a model for Chanel once herself.
Taken place before WWI in 1913 in Paris, the film depicts Chanel’s brief affair with the married composer, Stravinsky, who at the time, was a poor and under-appreciated Russian composer making a living in Paris.
Coco & Igor Stravinsky takes after the storyline of Coco Before Chanel (2009) in which Audrey Tautou starred. Their passionate affair begins when Chanel is captured by Stravinsky’s talents at his Rite of Spring performance and becomes a generous patron of the stranded Russian musician She provides money and her luxurious villa for his family and an inspirational outlet for his music.
Sadly, Stravinsky never foresaw Chanel’s talents and disregarded her as his artistic equal. “You’re a shopkeeper,” he claimed. Soon after their affair fizzled, Chanel creates her iconic No. 5 perfume in the same year.
What do you think? I loved the attention to details in this film, from the beautifully crafted music, clothing and even the elegantly shot sex scenes.
