Beauty | Paco Rabanne Black XS L’EXCÈS Fragrances

Black XS L’EXCÈS and Black XS L’EXCÈS for her; powerful, rhythmic, glamorous, impetuous, sensual and vibrant… to excess. They are the expression of a sophisticated, creative and excessive Rock world. In the limelight, caught between the dream of stardom and Rock reality, Black XS L’EXCÈS holds the appeal of a fantasy.
Paco Rabanne launched Black XS and Black XS for her in 2005, fragrances made of stern stuff and with it a rock element. Pioneers in the genre; fragrances, bottles and commercials shook up the international perfume scene - The Black XS duo has successfully imposed a new style, winning fans the world over. Now, from love to passion, Black XS is creating L’EXCÈS. A Black XS L’EXCÈS world that we find in a commercial directed by Jonas Akerlund (I’ll blog once it’s out, I do have the behind the scene stills, but wait until the video is out).

Black XS L’EXCÈS
An incredibly powerful woody aromatic with a striking trail. Smelling it is like walking on stage. Guitar notes: a burst of exuberant freshness with Calabrian lemon and lavender; a beating heart: an ozonic, cypriol and cistus accord; drum swell, extreme trance, a deep and sensual amber woody base.
Eau de Intense Spray 50ML $65.00 CDN & 100ML $78.00 CDN

Black XS L’EXCÈS For Her
An excessively sensual oriental floral. A fusion of energy, the first notes of neroli and black pepper are electrifying; at the heart of the fragrance they pulse over a profusion of jasmine Queen of the Night and rose absolute. Mysterious and voluptuous, the base casts an addictive spell with an intoxicating overdose of cashmere wood.
Eau de parfum spray 50ML $75.00 CDN & 80ML $86.00 CDN
Two talented perfumers create these fragrances and depict “excess”: Emilie Coppermann for Black XS L’EXCÈS For Her and Fabrice Pellegrin for Black XS L’EXCÈS.
Black XS L’EXCÈS, two bottles styled to the extreme. The two clearly identifiable Black XS L’EXCÈS bottles play the Rock stars, virile, black lacquer and silver for him, with voluptuous garnet ombré curves for her. Evoking the rebellious, Rock attitude direction, the skull features as a glossy watermark on the black matte packs, and on the bottles in the form of a piercing for him and in a charm version for her, paired with the rose.
Black XS L’EXCÈS will be available April 2012 at Shoppers Drug Mart, Sephora and other fine drug stores across Canada.

Beauty | Kristen Stewart for Balenciaga Fragrance

Just finished reading the press release announcing that Balenciaga’s creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière has chosen Kristen Stewart to be the face of the house’s fragrance.
What’s his justification for such a lude act?!
Kristen Stewart embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence. From her early appearance in ‘Panic Room’ to her independent choice of ‘Welcome to the Rileys,’ I’ve always sensed her progressive character. In 2006, I invited her to appear in a project shot by Bruce Weber. Since then, I’ve always wished to collaborate with her further, knowing that she shares the radical spirit of Balenciaga.
Sensibility and intelligence? What, have you not heard her in conversation, or lack of conversation?! |The blank slate (and I don’t mean that face) that is her personality is void of anything! This is suppose to add validity to your brand? Or fragrance? So disappointing, the brand is perfect, the fragrance spectacular but this choice - a failure. Sorry. I’m still in disbelief!
I would love to hear your comments and remarks to this! What do you think?

Event | The Philosophy Behind Philosophy

Philosophy: Believe in Miracles - says their slogan, and near miracles they’ve preformed. From clearing acne scars, to restoring radiance to dull skin, to becoming the fourth largest skincare company in the United States. Since it’s launch in 1996 by Cristina Carlino (a skin care entrepreneur and visionary with over 30 years experience, working with the world’s leading dermatologists.) and it’s diverse but integrated portfolio of skin care, fragrance, bath & body and gift sets, Philosophy is the fastest growing brand since 2010 in the U.S.

Select media and beauty editors were invited to Philosophy’s engaging and highly informative, brand workshop where we had the honor by being educated and familiarized by the brand’s, Robin White. With over 20 years of experience in the beauty and cosmetic industry, White has served in numerous roles as the Director of Sales, Director of Education and now her current role, Director of International Education and Global Press - and has contributed heavily to the brands success and notoriety. A highly engaging woman, that quite frankly had me hook from the moment she said hello to her ever lasting “Thank you, for your time.” That, and she was incredibly beautiful. Oh, and guess what? She’s also a Canadian!

Below I dissect Philosophy’s essential items, best sellers and one product you NEED to have! I mean need to! Actually, there are two!
