TIFF | Diesel & ONEXONE Present: Lupe Fiasco, Kardinal Offishall + more

This was it! A concert during TIFF that had the public, celebs and myself jumping around like monkeys!! Diesel & ONEXONE presented a sick concert that consisted the talents of Lupe Fiasco, Kardinal Offishall, Melanie Fiona, Jully Black and more.

Thanks to my friends at Diesel here in Canada, I was invited to join the likes of Stereos, band member, Daniel (who has become a regular on Fashionights), local Toronto personalities and employees of Diesel from around Canada, to the VIP Diesel Lounge. Strategically placed, in front of the stage, at a perfect distant that we overlook the crowd, it was as if we had front row seats! Except with an open bar, jelly beans and 5-Star hors d’oeuvres.
I got to meet some new friends! LOVE Fashion Friends! So hoping that Ben, who works at Diesel Flagship store in Toronto would be there (because he said he would be), but ended up being a no show, boo! Nonetheless, had a B.L.A.S.T. and regret nothing.
I totally thought that Kardinal was a major bust, but I get why people like him. Ok, there I said it; he definitely gets an entire room moving!

Music | Julie C. Steady Ground Album Launch

Julie C.celebrated her sophomore album launch, Steady Ground with friends, family and a select group of media at an intimate and interactive concert at The Rivoli.
The Montreal native wowed and got the crowd jumping with a mix of songs from both her first and recent albums. A total treat to watch live; I say this because Julie can actually sing live, extremely well compared to other artists! It’s so refreshing!

Check out the rest of my pictures from Julie C.’s album launch after the jump.
Event | Jill Hennessey: Intimate and Interactive

Playing to a packed house at The Rivoli on Queen St. Jill Hennessey wowed and blew away the audience.
The singer/songwriter turned actress, best known for her starring roles in Crossing Jordan and Law & Order; went back to her musical roots and shared and promote her debut album Ghost in my Head; and shared her nostalgia with the audience. She joked on how she use to busk in front of The Rivoli in the early 90s when she found herself living in Toronto on her own and tried to make ends meet. She continued on to say that it was a surreal experience and honour to be playing at such an intimate gathering of friends, family and special invited guests.
I found myself being transfixed during many of her songs, and fascinated by her crisp but strong voice. She writes with passion and finds a way to relate her songs and inspirations from past experiences and daily happenings. Truly a natural artist, who if you have seen her act is talented, and is no different in her musical profession, from which she started out as.
A super huge thank you goes out to the wonderful and incredibly talented ladies of Strut Entertainment for the invite, my friend Shanon and I had a blast!
Coko Galore’s opening song at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre
I Was There | Coko Galore in Concert

Friday April 30th, friend and performing artist Coko Galore wowed the crowd at Buddies in Bad Times theatre, with her cool, pop-electro sound!
Approached by Buddies themselves after listening to her on her MySpace, they asked Coko if she could perform, the answer? “DUH, YES!”
You guys need to watch her live to totally understand her sound! Totally loved it and so did my other friends! We had a blast! Congrats Coko!
