Ad Campaign | Fashion Against AIDS 2012 By H&M

Boys making out, girls making out, H&M certainly is getting everyone’s attention with these racy and raw images for the retailer’s campaign for Fashion Against AIDS.
The latest campaign shots coincide with the Spring 2012 collection look book, seen on H&M’s website, so the sexiness continues there! Check it out, oh and the bonus of buying the collection, 25% of proceeds go to HIV/AIDS prevention projects worldwide.
Here are some pictures from last year’s collection when I went to the preview at H&M. But honestly, I think that’s more than a year ago, it’ll be 2 years in the summer I think!

FYI | TOMS Shoes 4th Annual One Day Without Shoes

On Tuesday, April 5, 2011, Canadians are invited to join a global movement, and all they have to do is take off their shoes! It’s the 4th Annual One Day Without Shoes: an international event developed by TOMS Shoes – the progressive One for One™ Shoe Company – to raise awareness of the positive impact a pair of shoes can have on a child’s life. In many developing countries, children must walk barefoot for miles to school, clean water and medical help, and hundreds of millions of children are at risk of injury, infection and soil-transmitted diseases that most can’t afford to prevent and treat.
Last year, more than 250,000 people participated in One Day Without Shoes, including celebrity supporters such as Olivia Wilde, Kristen Bell, and Demi Moore. This year, it’s Canada’s turn to shine as Canadian celebrities such as band members from Michou, Danny Fernades, Aliya-Jasmine Sovani of MTV Canada and Jacynthe have already lent their support to the initiative. TOMS goal is to have more than one million people involved worldwide. Please read the attached release for more information and to pledge your support, visit One Day Without Shoes.

Event | Corduroy Magazine and Textstyles.ca Holiday Pop-Up Closet

On November 25 I got the chance to preview Corduroy Magazine and Textstyles.ca’s First Annual Holiday Pop-Up Closet. Not only did this event have some seriously fabulous finds, the proceeds benefited the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation. And really… what’s better in this world than fashion and charity combined?
From the moment I walked in the door, I loved the vibe at Chasse Gardée (1084 Queen West). It was designed like a giant walk-in closet filled with all my favorite things (and some of my favorite Toronto fashion peeps, too). And this closet-supreme served wine!

Great original clothing pieces, ultra-hip accessories, and knick-knacks I didn’t know existed- but are now topping off my holiday wish list- decorated the store. Participating brands included Duy, Evisu Vintage, Lara Vincent, Red Canoe, Field Notes, Levi’s, Manimal Moccasins, Pendleton, and more! I would definitely recommend looking up these labels for some good buys.
The stars of the night for me were the to-die-for Jeffrey Campbell shoes and boots. Unfortunately, they were already out of my very popular size 8 in the styles I lusted over.

The benefiting charity, Holland Bloorview, is Canada’s largest children’s rehabilitation hospital. They work daily with doctors and researchers towards treatments, technologies and programs that give children with disabilities the tools to participate fully in life. So even if you’re not looking to top off your closet, directing a donation Holland Bloorview’s way would be a great way to get in the spirit of the season! You can donate online HERE. Or, if you’ve already bottomed out your wallet on fancy digs, you can find ways to volunteer your time HERE.

Fashion News | Gwen Stefani Designs Stroller for World Aids Day

As you all know, today, December 1st is World Aids Day, a time we remember all those lost and encourage and raise awareness for the vital importance of finding a cure for AIDS.
We’re all aware of it, and celebs are jumping on the bandwagon. Alicia Keys has urged all her A-list friends to cease any interactions on their social media outlets. Gaga, Usher and Ryan Seacrest, are just the few who are nowhere online until they’ve reached a million dollars for AIDS research from children in Africa.
So Gwen Stefani has colloborated with yummy mummy favourite, stroller company, Bugaboo to design a super limited-edition stroller to raise funds of which full proceeds go towards the Global Fund.
In honor of World AIDS Day and our partnership with (RED)TM, we teamed up with world-renowned style icon Gwen Stefani, Creative Director of L.A.M.B and front woman of No Doubt, to create a custom, one-of-a-kind Bugaboo Cameleon. This exclusive Bugaboo stroller will be auctioned off to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. The auction goes live on eBay at 12 pm PST on World AIDS Day, December 1, 2010 and will run through December 5, 2010 with 100% of the proceeds going to the Global Fund.
Gwen Stefani, a long time Bugaboo supporter and mom of two, designed this unique Bugaboo Cameleon using the latest prints from her iconic fashion line L.A.M.B. The customized Bugaboo Cameleon features a floral fabric with L.A.M.B. written in a graffiti style, while the front and back of the stroller are lined in Vachetta leather trim and embellished with rounded pyramid studs. A luggage tag imprinted with L.A.M.B. completes the look.
While there will only be one winner, anyone can support (RED) by purchasing a Bugaboo product as 1% of sales across the product range are contributed to the Global Fund. With this auction Bugaboo is helping to reach the goal of eliminating mother-to-child HIV transmission by 2015.
Want a crack at the bid? Check it out on eBay. Can’t wait to see how much it’ll go for, what do you think?
Event | Women’s Post Charity Fashion Show

Last night Women’s Post held their charity fashion show supporting the Women of Baycrest.
With CP24 host, Nalini Sharma and Julian Brass of Notable TV as the emcees for the night, introducing all the wonderful shows and festivities.
Designs by Freda’s Boutique, showcased women’s work wear and attire all modeled by Soberman Chartered accountants. Next up a special performance by Women in Dance, dancing a contemporary routine. Followed by one of my favourite vintage shops Paper Bag Princess, a vintage couture show showing all the wonderful vintage pieces currently at the store.

The best part of the night were the shopping tables, were guests had the chance to try, eat, get hair done and make-up retouched and of course shop on an assortment of products and services.
Paper Bag Princess had their station set up, and just look at the pieces they had. Louis Vuitton Vernis and Epi leather bags, Chanel tweed coats, Cartier clutch and so much more. I had my eye on a particular one, which was at $995, a steal for the usual $1300 price bag, and it was in mint condition.
If you have not made your way to Paper Bag Princess you need to, they’re located at 287 Davenport Rd and also exclusively sold at The Room in The Bay on Queen St.
