Ad Campaign | Acqua Di Gio Essenza

I want to get back to my strengths and highlighting models in ad campaigns have always been my favourite. I know a lot of you have been asking, my apologies, I’ve been so behind on a lot of things with the blog but I promise to get back to the good stuff.

So to kick things off, Canadian cutie, Simon Nessman stars as the face for Giorgio Armani’s newest fragrance, Acqua Di Gio Essenza! Shot and directed by Bruce Weber, the Ford Europe model is styled by Joe McKenna and also stars in the video campaign.

Review | Essie Bridal & Poppy Razzi Polish Collections

You may remember my tweets during Fashion week where the NKPR office was turned into an Essie Pop-up salon so editors, bloggers and TV personalities could take a load off, relax and enjoy a brilliant manicure from the ladies at Tips Nails Bar and Essie! Before that, Essie Weingarten (founder and Global Creative Director) was in town to celebrate and brief select media on her two latest collection from her world renowned Essie Nail Polish. She sat us through the collections, (some I’m not allowed to show you yet), her experience in the business and hey she even complimented me on my nail beds!

Essie launches the 2012 Wedding Collection (out April 2012) and The Poppy-Razzi Collection (Out May 2012) and I got a group of my nail obsessed girlfriends to test out the new collections! I always like to provide you, the readers with real experience testing or situations and my girls dish out on their favourite and least favourite shades from the latest collections. Vanessa, Karen, Jackie, Cymone and Moss all have a knack for having great nails and they were estatic that I got the colours before they were out, especially Moss, she has like every Essie colour imaginable!

The Bridal Collection was well received and liked, with ‘Love & Acceptance’ and ‘Who Is The Boss’ taking precedence. With an easy application and adding a high gloss top coat, the girls found these the best to wear with any skin tone and have a wide range of options to wear with different outfits.

Now, the Neon lot were a bit different. Most of them dried matte, something my girls aren’t fans of - also finding that to achieve the brightness of the desired colour multiple coats may have to be applied. The one the girls found the most difficult to swallow both as a colour and in achieving a desired colour was ”Action’ a bright tangerine hue - one that wasn’t as bright as perceived from the bottle. But, when using the Neon’s in more of a nail art purpose, the colour combinations are awesome (see below). And that’s just a simple one, I know some of you are wicked cool nail artists and these vivid hues are perfect for the season’s brights!

Event | Calvin Klein Fall 2012 In New York

Calvin Klein Inc. held a presentation in New York, featuring the Fall 2012 Calvin Kleinmen’s and women’s sportswear, tailored clothing, dresses, jeans wear, performance, outerwear, underwear, footwear, accessories, watches and jewelry, as well as the new ck one color cosmetics.

Inspired by modern city life, the sportswear was graphic and textured in an iconic palette of black and bone. For the complementing accessories, it was all about the sophisticated clutch and boot. The sultry mood of the season was enhanced with the new ‘Liquid Metal’ offering from Calvin Klein Jeans, which includes precious metal inspired denims for women and edgy, leather coated styles for men. A sleek assortment of ck Calvin Klein watches and jewelry, which celebrate their fifteenth anniversary this year, added a polished refinement. Fall 2012 also introduced Calvin Klein Push Positive, an innovative push-up providing a superior fit in a complete range of vivid hues and classic neutrals.

For the global launch of the ck one color cosmetics line, a beauty bar filled with the vibrant products was set up opposite stations with the brand’s newly named makeup artists – Jodie Boland, Kristi Matamoros, and Hung Vanngo – demonstrating the line’s ‘look real,’ ‘define yourself’ and ‘add intensity’ concepts.

Preview | 889 Yoga & Burt’s Bees Product Line

It’s always refreshing when brands and PR firms create Blogger only events and it’s a great experience because the cynicism of other “formal media” is out the door and you don’t have to play and compete with their likes. Held at 889 Yoga and Wellness Spa at the Yonge St. flagship location, Burt’s Bees held a delightful basic early morning yoga class alongside previewing it’s entire product line. It was so awesome and relaxing to get a morning relief from the hectic day, because literally right after I had to RUSH DOWN to the Jason Wu for Target pop-up that I had to visit!

After a great stretch with fellow fashion blogger, Gracie Carroll we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in Burt’s Bees’ all natural line. From the brand’s Baby Line (didn’t know they even had that) to the iconic lip-care collection (don’t act like you’ve never used the lip balm in that iconic little flat tin canister!).

But really their lip care line is incredibly extensive and covers a broad range of needs and benefits to care for your lips. The tinted lip balm (seen below) takes the passion for Burt’s Bees Balms to the next level with a hint of sheer color in six shades.
