Event | One Of A Kind Show: Spring 2011

On Wednesday I was invited to the preview and media breakfast to the One Of A Kind Show: Spring Show + Sale. Wonderfully served and spoiled by master crêpe artisan, Véronique, owner of Crêpes à GoGo.
With over 450 designers, artisans, crafts people including the introduction of The One OF A Kind Craft Community of Canada section they’ll be something for everyone. OOAKS is split into various areas, each with their themes and special sections. New Artisans, Fashion District, Green Section, Outdoor, Rising Stars, ClubOne and two new neighbourhoods; Craft Community of Canada and The Muskoka Artists Marketplace. Two areas which the titles say it all.

PASTE, a t-shirt line from New York. Wonderful, silk-screened t shirts with edgy and fun slogans and graphics.

Like, hello! Like, total story of my life! Want it!

Oh Dina! An incredibly talented Ryerson design student by the name of Nicole McInnis, has put her studies on hold because her art and passion have taken over her life. McInnis has encountered a lot of successful endeavours and her in-demand head pieces are selling like hot cakes. I can’t see why not; her intricate detailing and pieces of art are brilliant for any statement-making moment or event.

Lover Fighter, dubbed “Rock & Roll Cavalry,” has designer Joanna Baxter busy working away with her successful business. Based in West Vancouver, Baxter takes vintage authentic chains from old Canadian steel mills that no longer exist. So, ultimately once all her wheels of chain are done, these rustic pieces will be uber limited edition.

OOAKS runs from March 30-April 3rd. Tickets available online or at the door. To learn more about OOAKS and all of the artisans and designers visit the One Of A Kind Show.
